The West Plains Zizzers hosted the Camdenton Lakers on Friday, September 18, 2020. The West Plains Zizzers commanded the ball during the 1st quarter of the game, scoring a fast touchdown. Toward the end of the quarter, there was wild pair of plays where the Zizzers intercept a Laker pass and, in the very next play, the Lakers making an interception of their own against the Zizzers. With 15 seconds left on the clock, the Lakers fumbled the ball in the end zone and the ball was recovered by West Plains. West Plains leading Camdenton at the end of the first quarter, 7 to 0.
The second quarter had West Plains scoring a quick touchdown and continued a strong defense against Camdenton. West Plains ended the first half with another touchdown, leading the Camdenton Lakers, 21 to 0.
The West Plains Zizzers kept the Camdenton Laker running by starting the third quarter with another touchdown and a very strong defense. The Camdenton Laker had made a great push, getting down to the 1 yard line to fumble the football to which the Zizzers recovered. Two bad long snaps kept the West Plains Zizzers from adding to their score further in the third quarter, 28 to 0.
The fourth quarter saw more control by the Camdenton Lakers. The Lakers kept the Zizzers from scoring and managed to get on the scoreboard. It didn’t look like Camdenton would be able to penetrate the Zizzer defense but, with 13 seconds left on the clock, a long pass completed the first and only touchdown for the Lakers. At the end of a long game, the West Plains Zizzers stood victorious over the Camdenton Lakers.
The West Plains Zizzers defeated the Camdenton Lakers, 28 to 6.
