The West Plains Zizzers took on the Camdenton Lakers in Camdenton on September 22, 2023. The Zizzers came off a win the previous week against the Rolla Bulldogs.
The Zizzers had a tough game; tough gaining any yardage and tough defending against the Lakers offense. The Lakers made three touchdowns during the first half of the game and ended the half with a field goal as the clock dropped to zero, all that were completely unanswered by West Plains.
The second half was not any better for the Zizzers. The Camdenton lakers made two touchdown during the third quarter and that put the fourth into Turbo Clock territory. The Turbo Clock rule states if one team is more than 35 points ahead of the other, the game clock will not stop between plays during the fourth quarter. With the Zizzer defense, additional time would have only benefitted the Lakers, who scored their final touchdown during the fourth quarter.
The West Plains Zizzers were defeated by the Camdenton Lakers 45 to 0. Next week, the Zizzers are back at home and will take on the Kickapoo Chiefs. West Plains falls to 3 wins and 2 losses for the season.
