West Plains, Mo. – The Lady Zizzer Swim Team traveled to Monett on Saturday where they earned a 1st place finish among 12 teams. The Lady Zizzers won 7 of 11 events including the 200 Individual Medley Relay (Paige Sheridan, Evie Neisen, Brayden Kantola, Addie Peugh), 200 Individual Medley (Sheridan), 50 Freestyle (Neisen), 100 Freestyle (Trinity Wake), 500 Freestyle (Sheridan), and 100 Breaststroke (Neisen), and the 400 Freestyle Relay (Sheridan, Wake, Gilly Grigsby, Peugh). The swimmers medaled in 19 of 23 entries.
The Zizzers swept the 500 Freestyle with an exciting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finish by Sheridan, Peugh and Grigsby. New state qualifying times were achieved by Sheridan (200 IM, 100 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle), and Evie Neisen (100 Breaststroke).
Swim of the meet went to Paige Sheridan “who swam away with the win and a new school record,” according to Head Coach Ryan Smith. The sophomore set another school record of the season in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:24.49. The Lady Zizzers are coached by Ryan Smith and Hailey Beazley with the help of team manager Ethan Squires. The Zizzers compete next on January 4th in Seymour .
