Alton’s “Walnut Festival” Taking Place This Weekend

Alton, MO. – It’s time for another week of Fall festival season in the Ozarks. Starting this weeks coverage on spotlighting the celebrations of different communities in the area is Alton, Missouri in Oregon County. This weekend, their annual “Walnut Festival” is scheduled to begin.

For this year, the Alton Chamber of Commerce says that there will be a baking contest, a pumpkin carving contest, a woodworking contest, music, a singing contest, games, and of course food.

They also say several other happenings are planned to take place for the town this Friday and Saturday, complimenting the festival. There will be a 5k and 1 mile walk & run, a car show, and even an FFA Truck and Tractor Pull.

There’s lots to do in the Alton community for this festival, so consider attending this weekend.
