Roby, MO. – A load of petroleum has leaked into a local creek in Texas County, and various services have pitched in to address the issue.
This began on August 7th when the Roby Volunteer Fire Department reported a colorful sheen coming from Paddy Creek in Texas County to the US Forest Service. Afterward, the Environmental Emergency Response Section of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources was contacted about the concern.

This incident was caused by a drilling rig that had entered the creek. Since then, absorbent materials were placed to absorb the chemicals in the water. While the spill has been cleaned up, authorities are currently looking for information on the vehicle that caused the issue.
