Ava, MO. – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, in partnership with other agencies, recently made an arrest, continuing operation on a months-long investigation on a man in possession of child pornography.
The evidence needed for this arrest was acquired after search warrants were issued for a home, a makeup repackaging business, and two warehouses. Multiple objects that contained data were confiscated and what is believed to be over 11,000 images related to child pornography are thought to have been found.
According to Sheriff Degase, this investigation started back in February when the suspect, identified as Steven Konert, moved to the area and was arrested for charges of being a felon in possesion of a firearm.
Steven Konert has been arrested on two charges of Possession of Child Pornography, and is being held in the Douglas County Jail on $100,000 bond, cash only.
