Bob was a Christian and baptized as a young man. On December 27, 1952, at the age of 16, Bob married the love of his life, Cora Berniece Tackett and to
this union two children were born, Bobbie Keith and Brenda Marleen.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Berniece, his parents, brothers JD Mobley, Leo, Edward, Virgil, and Melvin Ledgerwood and sisters Sylvia Smotherman, Mary Moreland, Jaunita Gall, and Sadie Dodson.
He is survived by his brother Elvin (Tim) Ledgerwood and wife Nancy, his children Keith (Brenda) Ledgerwood of Alton, MO and Brenda (Barry) Randolph of Cape Girardeau, MO, grandchildren Betsy (Richard) AuBuchon, Patrick Ledgerwood, Capt. Brian Randolph, Aaron (Jess) Randolph, 9 great- grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
As a young husband, Bob worked in Washington state before moving his family back to Missouri. He and Berniece owned and operated Ledgerwood Lumber in Alton for 40 years. Bob also worked alongside Keith and Patrick on the family cattle ranch. Bob was a volunteer fireman and fire chief for the Alton Fire Department in his younger years. He loved his family and will be remember for his pranks, jokes, and funny sense of humor. When their health began to falter, Bob moved with Berniece to assisted living near their daughter in Cape Girardeau. After Berniece’s death, he moved to Shepherd’s View in Alton where he spent his final months.
Bob will be laid to rest alongside his wife at Huddleston Cemetery with Rev. Edward Casey officiating. Pallbearers include Patrick Ledgerwood, Capt. Brian Randolph, Aaron Randolph, Royce Ledgerwood, Kaleb Ledgerwood, and Toby Simpson.
