Criminal Charges Result from 2022 Fatal Crash

Salem, AR. – An Arkansas woman has received criminal charges and a prison sentence as a result of a fatal crash that occurred last year near Salem, AR.

Those involved were the late 45-year-old Robert Zeigler of Salem, Kelly Zeigler, 66 of Salem who was injured, and Kamala Crone, 55 of Horseshoe Bend, who was uninjured.

Crone has received a 15-year sentence in prison with 60 months of suspended imposition of sentence to follow through a negotiated guilt plea. This applies to her charges of Felony Neglient Homicide, Driving While Intoxicated, Driving DWI with a Suspended License, and Refusing to a Chemical Test.

In the accident, Crone had driven her vehicle into the opposing lane and struck the second vehicle head-on.

According to the probable cause affidavit, law enforcement witnessed Crone attempting to leave the scene of the accident, and evidence of intoxication was clearly present.
