He was born on November 27, 1942 in Centerville, Ohio and is the son of the late George C. & Helen Lucas Schubert.
He had retired in 2000 after a long career working at General Electric. During his retirement he enjoyed maintaining hiking trails on the Appalachian Trail and other Mid-Atlantic area trails.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 37 years, Eva J.M. Scyoc Schubert, who passed away in 2006. He is survived by his second wife, Eleanor Veronica Lopiano Schubert, whom he married in 2011; his children from his previous marriage, namely two daughters, Cheryl Maynard of Red Jacket, WV and Jennifer Isakson of Clearfield, Utah; four sons, Douglas Schubert of Savage, MD., Jason Schubert of College Station, Texas, Jonathan Schubert of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Sgt. Christopher Schubert of Ft. Hood, Texas.; two brothers, Thomas Schubert of Findlay, Ohio and Harry Schubert of Sardina, Ohio, 24 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Harpers Ferry Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 343 Carriage Drive, Harpers Ferry, WV with Bishop Justin McCune officiating. Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, WV where he will be buried next to his first wife.
