Herbert David Bowers, 89, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away on October 9, 2023, at his residence. Herbert was born on September 7, 1934, in Thayer, Missouri to Dave Jacob Bowers and Jettie Gregory Bowers. During his life he married Melba Jean Tharp on October 29, 1951. From this union two children were born; Phyllis and Regena Bowers. He was a dedicated farmer and will be missed by all who knew him.
Herbert is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Golden, a granddaughter and many friends.
Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, Dave Jacob Bowers and Jettie Gregory, his wife, Melba Jean Tharp, a daughter, Regena Bowers, and a brother, Howard Bowers.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for all donations and memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: Memorial Processing, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-0059
Graveside Services will be on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at the Thayer Cemetery of Thayer, Missouri.
