Springfield, MO. – The high heat we experienced this past week broke some temperatures, according to the latest data from the National Weather Service in Springfield.
Raychel Nelson, meteorologist, tells us that records were broken in both the Springfield and West Plains regions on the 12th. Of the four regional offices the Springfield branch monitors, this means that half had their heat records broken. The West Plains region broke a record that had been in place since 1975.

However, despite this record heat, we’re in for a roller coaster this week as we’ll be approaching lows in the 30s this Friday and Saturday, and we are likely to see the 80s once again next weekend.
