Survivors include his daughter Veronica Warren, two sisters, Dorothy Chester (Otis) and Linda Dzik (Freddie), numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death was his parents, Otto Warren and Ada Shipman-Warren, his wife Cherie Butler-Warren, two brothers Major and Max Warren and sister Nellie McClanahan.

James was a veteran, serving with the United States Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War in the early 1950s.
A visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Monday, April 5, 2021 at the Clary funeral Home, Alton, MO.
Following the visitation, the body will be cremated with his and Cherie’s ashes buried together in the Warren family section at Bailey Cemetery.
