She was preceded in death by both parents, a sister Estalee, two brothers Thomas and Russell McGary, 4 brothers-in-law Buford, Charles and Ralph Cockman and Melvin Williams, 3 sisters-in-law Juanita, Ruth and Betty Cockman; 1 grandson Gregory Shane Pierce and 3 nephews Bill and Duane McGary and David Cockman.
Laverne is survived by her husband of 68 years and 11 months, Joe; daughter Mary A Pierce, son Harold Dean Cockman, daughter Cheryl Maclin and husband Randal; 5 grandchildren (Matt, Doneesa, Dustin, Andrea, Marissa) and 10 great-grandchildren and their spouses; brothers and sisters-in-law Cecil and Betty McGary, Wesley and Janet McGary and Roscoe McGary, sister and brother-in-law Elsie and Gary Rutherford, sister-in-law Shirley McGary along with a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and best friend, Lovella Miller.
Services will be Monday, November 15, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO, Bro. JR Andrews officiating, with visitation 1:00 pm until service time. Burial will be in the Cave Springs Cemetery.
