Rosia Faye Wilburn

Rosia Faye (Shrum) Wilburn was welcomed earth side by her parents Clarance and Jewell (Gober) Shrum on July 23, 1945 in Abilene Texas. She departed from this earth on September 19, 2022 in Stockton, MO.

Rosia was the older of two daughters born to her parents, she and her sister Shirley were very close and had many adventures together. When the two of them would get together they could spend hours reminiscing about their childhood and laughter was soon to follow. On November 22, 1970 in their Pastor’s home located in St Louis, MO, Rosia married the love of her life Floyd Wilburn, and to this union she immediately gained two stepchildren Linda and Grant. In 1974 on Valentine’s Day, Floyd and Rosia welcomed their daughter Emily into this world. Rosia accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a teenager and faithfully followed him the rest of her life. She attended Lula Full Gospel Church outside of Alton, MO for nearly 50 years, she then attended Fairview Community Church after moving to Jerico Springs, MO to be closer to her family in her final years. Rosia spent her married years faithfully serving God and attending to her family. She enjoyed reading and crocheting, but was mostly known for her delicious homemade bread. Rosia suffered much heartache in her life, but the greatest of these was the passing of her beloved husband Floyd in 2009. Rosia had a caring and serving spirit and she never met a stranger; she could easily strike up a conversation with anyone. The last years of her life were spent living at the Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility in Stockton, MO. Rosia developed memory deficits which required constant care, but despite her memory changes she always remembered her love for Jesus. She was often found to be reading her Bible to her new friends in the memory care unit and praying over them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd, parents, father and mother in-law AJ and Delia Wilburn, grandson Stephen Moore, brothers’ in-law Lloyd Wilburn, Hayden Wilburn, Robert Booker, and John Preston and sister in-laws Mildred Wilburn and Rosa Lois Wilburn
