This Weeks Featured Pet Of The Day Wrap-UP

Pet Lovers! – Here we are, once again, with the wrap-up of this week’s adorable pets. The pets are being featured to help the shelters and rescues with their current problem of overcrowding. This week was a little different because of the fact that it was Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet week. Three days of this week were reposts of pets who are still looking for homes and today we ended on a happy note with all the featured pets that have been adopted so far. Good news about Kovu, who was featured yesterday, he found his forever home yesterday around lunch. I am so happy for him.

On Monday, we featured this pretty baby girl. She is currently being held at the West Plains Animal Care and Control so she does not have a name. What would you guys name her? This baby girl is a 45-pound lab mix. She has been there since the beginning of July and is looking for a home. She has already been leashed trained and has a good amount of energy but not too much if you want a more docile dog. She loves humans and gets along well with other dogs. She would love to find her forever home, inside or outside, and she gets along well with kids. If you are interested in adopting this baby, please contact the West Plains Animal Care and Control at 417-255-1860.

On Tuesday, we featured this handsome, sweet-smiling boy. He is being held at the West Plains Animals Care and Control waiting for his family to take him to a forever home. The boy is a 60-pound pit mix and has been held since the beginning of August. He is trained on the leash and enjoys walks and time outside but also enjoys giving all humans a huge smile. I mean look at that smile! He gets along well with other dogs but the Animal Control is unsure about cats because they haven’t seen him around any. If you are interested in giving this sweet boy a forever home so you can constantly see that smile, please contact the West Plains Animal Care and Control at 417-255-1860.

On Wednesday, we reposted a pup that is going to be without a home soon, due to his foster moving, Biscuit. Biscuit is being held at Ozarks Pet Rescue and has been without a home or family for 379 days now. He is one of their first intakes as a rescue and is a Plot Hound, not a Pit Mix. He is really a sweet, sweet boy. He was found a stray and does need some basic training but he is being worked with. He gets along with other dogs his size and has an interest in cats but will not intentionally hurt them. His current foster family is having to move and can’t take Biscuit, so he is without a home right now. Biscuit will come neutered, UTD on Vaccines and Ravies vaccine, microchipped, and flea and tick meds! The normal adoption fee is $150 but we are lowering his adoption fee to $75 for the right home! Please fill out the application today and Ozarks Pet Rescue will reach out for a meet and greet! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/OZAR/Dog.If you want to meet or help Biscuit, Primos Mexican Restaurant will be holding a donation and adoption event this Saturday at the Restaurant.

On Thursday, we featured Kovu, who ended up getting adopted!! Kovu is an 8-month-old Rottweiler mix. He is a super sweet guy and is very loyal to the people he loves. Kovu is leash-trained and has been dewormed and vaccinated. He is good with other dogs, but unsure about cats. Kovu is a little shy at first since he’s spent a lot of time in the shelter, but he warms up very quickly.

On Friday, I made a post of all the Featured Pets who have found homes since they were featured.

The following babies have all been featured animals and have now all gone with a new family and found their forever homes.
– Ollie from the Mountain Grove Animal Control has been adopted and now lives with his forever family. This handsome little boy is a Black Mouth Cur mix and is around 2 to 3 years old. He is a smart guy, who is already potty trained, leash trained, and knows how to sit, shake, come to his name, and enjoys rides in cars. Ollie does great with people, other dogs, and cats.
– Audra from the Mountain Grove Animal Control has also been adopted and now lives with her loving family in her new forever home. She is an Extra Large Shepard mix and such a sweetheart. Audra is well-trained on the leash, potty trained, and listens pretty well. She is pretty good with other dogs but is still unsure about cats. And even better she is the perfect picture of mom dog. No, she doesn’t have puppies but she claims kids as her own. Audra absolutely loves kids and humans.
– Zena from Ozarks Pet Rescue has also been adopted and given a second chance to see that not all humans are bad after her start. She is very timid and shy of new people but is one of the sweetest little girls ever. She had a troubling past and was rescued from a home with 57 other dogs and cats where they were not fed and not taken care of. Despite all of this she was a sweetheart and deserved to find this family.
– Sunset from Ozarks Pet Rescue has also been adopted by a loving human and taken to her forever home. She warms up to people pretty fast and loves treats, like would do anything for one. She only has three legs, one had to be amputated due to circumstances before she was rescued. And it also seems like she loves a good game of hide and seek (especially if there are treats involved). Despite being three-legged, she is fast, steady, and has a good cat personality.
– Kovu from Mountain Grove Animal Control was adopted just yesterday!
– Last but definitely not least, The Big Eared Sweetheart from West Plains Animal Care and Control has been adopted. She weighs around 40 pounds and is believed to be a Collie Mix. I spent some time with her last week and I can say that she is a little bundle of joy. She does have quite some energy but loves the people around her. She loves playing outside and gets along well with other dogs. I do not know about cats and other animals, though. She walks very well on a leash and listens pretty well to commands. She really is a sweetheart. They believe that she is around 1 year old.
