West Plains, MO. – A park in West Plains has received an facelift from the City, and it is now known as Tuk’s Playground at Gene Jones Park; an official dog park within city limits.
Various equipment has been installed, including hoops, bars, and ramps, as well as a chain link fence separating it from the streets.
This project has been in the making for some time, with plans originally being set for Lofton Park. However, Lofton Park presented potential troubles related to flooding. Combine that with its reduced access to sidewalks and less centrally located position, Gene Jones Park became the new focus for this project.
The Grand Opening of the new dog park is set for 11AM on June 17th, but citizens of West Plains can use it starting today.
