West Plains, MO. – A fire was being fought at Dawt Mill in eastern Ozark County Wednesday afternoon.
Calls for assistance to battle the fire went out shortly after 5 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
Update: 7p.m. reports from the scene are saying the fire is under control and the main structure is still standing. The inside has suffered damage throughout the building.
Due to fast response from local firefighters, the fire has been contained. Inside the building is heavily damage and the smell of smoke is strong. Outside, the structure seems stable with a few ducts and windows broken.
Fire departments that responded include Dora, Caulfield, Gainesville, Lick Creek, West Plains, Howell Rural, Tecumseh, and Bakersfield. This is not a full list of all departments who responded.
The Ozark County Ambulance was on scene to tend to any potential medical problems.
