Ozark Radio News on location, I’m News Director Cody Sanders in Willow Springs on Main Street where a building has collapsed again this is in downtown Willow Springs on Main Street the portion of Main Street has been closed down to through traffic as well as pedestrian traffic as clean-up is underway.
Ozark Radio News spoke with both the City Administrator Beth Hicks as well as the owner of this building that collapsed his name is Blake Brown. The plan was for this summer this building to be torn down it has however collapsed this happened at 7:45 this morning there was a pedestrian on the street at the time on the other side of the street near Coulter Heating and Air.
There were no injuries nobody was in the building this is a vacant building it does however Cheryl walk with an apartment complex be residents of that apartment complex have been asked to stay elsewhere for the next day or so the city of Willow Springs is working with the Red Cross in case displacement will take longer than that but this is a situation where East Main Street is going to be kind of close down for the next day at least all day today this portion of the street will be closed down and likely into tomorrow as well.
More questions and answers at this time but Ozark radio news will have more information as the day and days go by we’ll have updates with Beth Hicks and we’ll see if we can’t get some more answers as to how this happened that we do know what happened at 7:45 this morning we are happy to report that there were no injuries involved in the situation there is video coverage as well as photos online Ozark Radio News and on the Ozark Radio News Facebook page for Ozark Radio News I’m Cody Sanders reporting.
