A multi vehicle accident occurred shortly after 1pm left US HWY 63 in West Plains closed for nearly 4 hours.
The accident occurred as a semi travelling along 63 attempted to brake at a red light, and skidded into the intersection. Currently, a vehicle is trapped underneath the trailer, which is itself filled with cattle that were on their way for delivery.
Southbound traffic along 63 is stopped up, and all drivers are urged to take alternate routes to get to where they need to go.
It is unclear as to the extent of injury, or if there are fatalities involved.
West Plains Police stated it could be several hours before the wrecked is cleared.
