VIDEO: West Plains Officially Opens The Largest Municipal-Owned Solar Farm in Missouri

West Plains, MO. – In what seemed a meeting of two impossibilities a few years ago, The City of West Plains cut the ribbon and flipped the switch on the largest municipal-owned solar farm in Missouri on a Friday in April that had snow flurries in the forecast.

The West Plains Solar Farm has been a massive undertaking with the city and Evergy, one of the largest energy providers in the United States. It was on this day one year ago that ground was broke on the farm and 26,316 solar panels and 12 months later, the array has begun to provide power to the area.
