The West Plains Zizzers started out strong with an early lead, scoring their first touchdown of the night. After a few turnovers, the Hannibal Pirates put themselves on the board to tie up the game 7 to 7.
The second quarter remained uneventful until the last drive by Hannibal, in which they came out ahead 14 to 7 in the last seconds of the first half.
West Plains Zizzers came out swinging in the second half and pushed hard for a touchdown. Achieving their goal, it was time for the field goal kick and an unfortunate bad snap could have ended in disaster. The Zizzers persevered and turned a bad snap into a 2 point conversion. West Plains was then leading 15-14. The action did not stop there as West Plains, after a turnover by Hannibal, pushed to secure a touchdown and an 8 point lead to end the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Zizzers clenched their lead with one more touchdown from within 6 inches of the goal line.
The West Plains Zizzers defeated the Hannibal Pirates with a final score of 29-14.
