AVA, Mo. — A Willow Springs man faces charges after a deputy who had been watching a live sting operation on Facebook intervened.
27-year-old Kristopher Lenon was charged last week with 2nd degree counts of statutory rape and statutory sodomy, both felonies.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a live feed off of 417 Predator Hunter’s Facebook page on Friday, November 29, after being alerted that the operation was in Douglas County. The group does undercover sting operations on potential sexual predators similar to the Dateline NBC series “To Catch A Predator”. In this case, the group says Lenon believed he was meeting a 15-year-old girl from Springfield at an Ava motel.
After finding out the location of the broadcast, a Douglas County deputy arrived and took Lenon into custody.
Lenon was held on a $10,000 cash-only bond with special bond conditions that include CPS and GPS monitoring. He was still held at report time in the Douglas County jail.
