On Friday night, the West Plains Zizzers opened up week 1 of the 2020 football season, by traveling to Springfield, MO to face the Glendale Falcons. With a limited crowd in attendance, many watched online from all across the country.(7000+ views and climbing)
The game was plagued with flags against the Zizzers, with 13 flags and 117 penalty yards before halftime, and many players with cramps on both teams.
Despite the penalties, the West Plains Zizzers were able to end the first half of the game ahead of the Falcons, 26 to 24. The Glendale Falcons did an amazing Hail Mary pass with 0.2 seconds on the clock in their attempt to even the score before halftime.
The third quarter began with a fast touchdown for the Falcons and an equally quick response by the Zizzers. The Zizzers managed to keep the lead, ending the third quarter 39 to 38.
The fourth quarter had Conner Lair of the Zizzers run a 62 yard interception in for a touchdown. Glendale answered with a touchdown on their receive. The Zizzers struck in the middle of the fourth quarter, and took a commanding lead to win the game 66 to 44.
Ozark Marketing continued it’s tradition of providing a live video stream of Zizzer Football with the help from presenting sponsors Ozarks Medical Center, Mr. Dent, and Hirsch Feed and Farm Supply. Footage from the game as of Saturday morning had over 7000 views, and 15+ states represented.
