THAYER, Mo. — A Thayer woman was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon after a one-vehicle accident near Thayer.
A report from the Highway Patrol states 82-year-old Alpha Melott was taken from the scene of the 4:30 pm accident to Cox South hospital in Springfield by Air Evac.

The accident happened on private property off of Oregon County Road 293 near Thayer when Melott fell from the vehicle before she was able to get it into park. The vehicle then ran over the woman, according to the report.
