HOUSTON, Mo. — Two people suffered moderate injuries Thursday afternoon after the vehicle they were in struck the towed unit of an oncoming vehicle.
A report from the Highway Patrol states the driver of the vehicle, 67-year-old Linda Merrell of Owensville, Mo., and a passenger, 78-year-old Tonie Helmig of Owensville, were both taken from the scene of the accident to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

The accident happened 5 miles south of Houston on Highway 63 around 2:35 pm Thursday.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
