Texas County deputies were dispatched to a residence on Hayes Dr. in the Houston area on December 4 for a report of a domestic assault. A female subject reported being assaulted by Caswell following an argument about transportation to check in with their probation and parole officers.

The female stated Caswell bit her shoulder and produced a knife while they were sitting in a car. The female said Caswell first threatened to harm himself with the knife but later held it to her throat and threatened to kill her. The female stated she was able to exit the vehicle, but Caswell grabbed her and forcibly put her back in car and choked her.

During the booking process for the jail authorities say a substance believed to be cocaine was discovered concealed on his person.
