Meeting the nutritional needs of horses can be a confusing and costly venture. With so many different feeds, forages, and supplements available, choosing products to best fit a horse’s individual needs can be difficult, but is essential for the overall health and performance of a horse. Regardless of discipline, nutrition and pasture management play large roles in a horse’s ability to excel at its job.
University of Missouri Extension in Howell County is offering a Horse Nutrition and Pasture Management workshop at 5:30pm on April 7th at the Howell County Extension Center, 1376 Bill Virdon Blvd. in West Plains.

Field Specialist in Agronomy Dr. Sarah Kenyon will discuss how to properly manage pastures to provide high quality forage and lower costs of feeding hay to horses.
Light refreshments will be provided. The cost of this workshop is $5. For more information, or to register call the Howell County Extension Center at 417-256-2391 or register online at https://extension2.missouri.edu/events/horse-nutrition-and-pasture-management-workshop.
