ASU-MH: Terre Green Ware Endowed Fund for the Performing Arts book Author Lecture Series

Terre Green Ware of Mountain Home, Arkansas, recently donated $10,000.00 to Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) to endow a new Book Author Lecture Series.  The gift will allow an author to visit ASUMH and present a lecture to the community beginning in the fall of 2021.  Authors of both fiction and non-fiction will be chosen by a small group of reviewers. The Performing Arts Council at ASUMH will assist in scheduling the events on the ASUMH campus.

Ware said her donation to ASUMH grew out of her own love for reading. She grew up a reader as part of a family dedicated to reading and passed that love to her own children, Pittman and Nicholas, she said. “Understanding the power of reading for knowledge, pleasure, and joy has always been a large part of my life. This gift has been on my heart for years,” said Ware. “The few times we have had authors speak to us at ASUMH, it has been extremely well received. My feeling was that we need more of that, therefore it was my desire and dream to make this happen for our college, as well as our community.  I am humbled and honored to provide this.  With the help of others, it can grow! I know my family is smiling down from heaven.  After all, they are a part of this too!”

ASUMH Development Officer Mollie Morgan said, “We are so grateful for donors like Terre.   They think of special events for our community and then do what is necessary to make things happen.   Because of Terre, many young writers will be inspired to follow their dreams.”
