Jerry Dale McColgin, age 59, of Willow Springs, Missouri, was born on April 29, 1961, to Virgil and Edna (Johnson) McColgin, in Houston, Missouri. He went home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2020.
Jerry enjoyed the outdoors. His favorite activities were hunting, fishing, working on old cars, and horseback riding.
Jerry worked in construction for many years hanging drywall in northern and middle eastern Missouri. He worked at Smith Flooring in Mountain View, Missouri from 2001 until 2017 when he was diagnosed with cancer and was no longer able to work.
Jerry gave his life to Christ in 2003. He touched the lives of so many young people by sharing with them God’s Word and the love he had for Christ.
Jerry was united in marriage to Elizabeth V. Seifert on October 21, 1989, in Houston, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Edna McColgin; three brothers, Gary McColgin, Densil McColgin, and Jim McColgin; one son, Joshua Ewing.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Elizabeth McColgin; children, Dallas McColgin and wife Christina of Willow Springs, MO, and Paris Midgett and husband Josh of St. James, MO; one sister, Bonnie Clover of St. Charles, MO; seven grandchildren, Noah Griffithes-McColgin, Chandler McColgin, Josiah Midgett, Lane McColgin, Jazmalynn Midgett, Trinity Midgett, and Tanner McColgin; and a host of nieces, nephews, and adopted children.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Westside Family Life Center, Willow Springs, Missouri with David Loven officiating. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
