Carolyn Joyce Freeman

Carolyn Joyce (Rousseau) Freeman was born September 23, 1970 in Springfield, Missouri. She was the fourth daughter of John Wesley Rousseau and Janice Aretta (Brummet) Rousseau. Carolyn passed away peacefully at home with her husband and daughters at her side on February 22, 2022 at the age of 51. She attended school at Plainview Elementary and graduated from Bradleyville High School. Carolyn and Victor Clay Freeman were united in marriage on December 18, 1989, and to this union two beautiful daughters were born, Callie Noel and Camryn Nicole. Carolyn resided in Nixa, Missouri with her family, where Carolyn was a homemaker for her girls, which were the loves of her life.

Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a very kind soft-hearted person and she had a contagious smile that would light up the room. Her sisters were her best friends. She loved having lunch, going to movies, and shopping with them. She also enjoyed going camping at the lake, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and she loved listening to gospel music. Carolyn’s mother and father meant everything to her as she considered her dad her hero. They raised her in a Christian home where they attended Green Valley General Baptist Church. Carolyn was saved and baptized in Little Beaver Creek.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father John Rousseau, her paternal grandparents Sam and Eula (Guerin) Rousseau, and her maternal grandpa Oliver Brummet. Survivors include her husband Victor Clay, daughters Callie Noell Freeman and Camryn Nicole Freeman, her mother Janice and stepdad Jerry Hawkins of Ava, maternal grandma Virginia Arleen (Mitchell) Brummet Henningsen of Ava, sisters Kimberly Rousseau of Ava, Kellie and Tim Stafford of Bradleyville, Christy Korkmaz of Nixa, Kathie and Bryan Petro of Sparta, nieces and nephews Jesse Hunn of Sedalia, Shawn Hunn and Georgia Goodwater of Ava, Jerrid Stafford of Bradleyville, Kayla Stafford and Cole Wyatt of Taneyville, Sena Korkmaz of Nixa, Logan Petro and Hailey Stevens of Sparta, Sidney and Cash Petro of Sparta, along with a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Funeral services for Carolyn will be Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Brushyknob Cemetery in Douglas County. A visitation will be Tuesday prior to the service at noon. Officiating will be Pastor Jack Clemans and Pastor Mike Freeman.
