Ava, MO. – On March 30, 2022, Ava Police Department Lt. Dewayne Butterworth arrested Cecil Crossland, age 51 of Ava, MO near the Ava Post Office on an active Douglas County Warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substances – Methamphetamine, A Class D Felony and Possession of Marijuana, a Class A Misdemeanor. The original case was investigated by Douglas County Lt. Taylor Wallace in September of 2021. Bond was set at $500 cash only and if bond posted must be on CPS Supervision with twice weekly drug testing.
All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
