COLUMBIA, Mo. – On Wednesday, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced the members of the 2022 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, comprised of college football student-athletes from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA and sprint football.
Running back Tyler Badie, center Michael Maietti and running back Dawson Downing were included in the elite group of 1,559 players from 313 schools that qualified for membership in the Society’s 16th year.
Badie was a 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-American and Mizzou’s first ever SEC Football Scholar-Athlete. Maietti was named to three All-America teams (PFF, Associated Press, Phil Steele) and both the coaches and Associated Press All-Southeastern Conference teams. Downing earned his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and health sciences in spring 2021 and is pursuing a graduate certificate in public health.
Nominated by their respective schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must have: completed their final year of playing eligibility in fall 2021, attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2, met all NCAA/NAIA-mandated progress towards degree requirements, been starters or significant contributors throughout the 2021 season.
