The Lady Zizzer 4 x200 relay team of Laura Dixon, Raigan King, Katie Bowers, and Yasmine Brashers broke the school record Monday at the SBU Bearcat invitational by winning the event in a time of 1:46.37. Their time surpassed the team of Stephanie Brown, Laura Padgett, Karla Collins, and Melinda Bingham set back in 1985 at 1:46.55! And Heston Miller broke the school 100-meter record Monday at the SBU Bearcat invitational. His time of 10.56 topped Aaron Esterle’s time of 10.63! Before Esterle, Joey Meyer owned the 100-meter record, ironically beating out Jimmy Miller’s (Heston’s Father) time set in 1998! West Plains Lady Zizzers won Bearcat Invitational scoring 100 points total second place was Rolla scoring 66 total points. The Zizzer Boys took second place over all scoring 84 points Nixa took first place with a team score of 105.

The Willow Springs Men’s Golf League will start May 5th at 530pm, the league will continue to be a two-person 9 hole scramble, there will be a signup sheet inside the pro-shop on the bulletin board.  Members and nonmembers are welcome to play in the Thursday night men’s league at Willow Springs.

 

The Emmett Kelly Festival 5k walk/run Saturday April 30th walkers and runners will meet at Lonestar Plaza 119 North Grand Ave in Houston with a check in time of 7am race start time is 8am $100 cash prize to fastest female and male runners also prize for fastest female and male in age categories including youth. The West Plains School District is pleased to announce Jesse McGuire has been named the West Plains High School boys and girls head wrestling coach. McGuire will assume the head coach position as of July 1st, 2022.

Former Kickapoo and Dora standout Isaac Haney has entered the transfer portal after one season at Missouri State. Haney won a state title at both Kickapoo and Dora during his high school days in Southwest Missouri. As a freshman, he played in 32 games for the Bears averaging nearly 16 minutes and 4 points a game.

 

The Colorado Avalanche ended the St. Louis Blues’ team-record 16-game point streak with a 5-3 win at Ball Arena on Tuesday.
