WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Basketball Head Coach Jared Phay has announced two signings for the upcoming season.
Kyle Germany and Carlos Paul, both of Detroit, Michigan, have signed national letters of intent to join the team.
Germany, a 6-foot 2-inch combo guard, helped lead his Western International High School team to a first place finish in the Detroit Public School League. He averaged 12 points and six assists per game his senior season.
“Kyle is an above-the-rim type player who can play the point and off guard positions,” Phay said. “He can do a little bit of everything.”
Paul, a 6-foot, 6-inch forward, averaged 12.7 points and 6.2 rebounds at Cornerstone Health and Technology High School his senior season, earning first team all-conference honors.
“Carlos is a match-up problem because he can shoot the ball, but he’s also very good at scoring with his back to the basket,” Phay said. “He’s physically strong and knows how to use his strength.”
Phay is excited to add both players to the team, but noted the Grizzlies still have needs to fill. “We have been patient in recruiting and have more work to do, but I like where we’re at,” he said.
