West Plains, MO. – A West Plains man is being treated at a local hospital after being injured in a one vehicle crash near Mountain View, Missouri on Wednesday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred on Highway 17, two miles south of Mtn. View at 4:20 p.m.
A southbound 2008 Dodge Durango driven by James Townsend, age 44 of West Plains, ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned. Townsend had not been wearing a seatbelt and suffered serious injuries in the crash. He was transported by Mercy Ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment.
