Judy Darlene Hicks, 56 years, 2 months, 16 days old, passed away on January 8, 2023 at her home from a long illness.
Judy was born October 22, 1966 in Mansfield, MO to Curtis Wayne and Lois Nadine (Davis) Hicks.
Judy worked at Wal Mart in Ava and was their manager in the meat department for a few years until her health declined. Judy was hardworking and very reliable.
She was a Christian and was brought up going to church. Judy enjoyed embroidering, quilting, cooking and teaching her kids how to cook. She loved her girls, Mindy and Mackenzie with all her heart and she was dedicated to taking care of all her family when she was able. Her joy was being with her grandchildren and loved spoiling them. She will be missed greatly!
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Jeanette Dobbins, Jeffery Hicks, Jeannie Hicks, Joyce Dobbins, Junior Dobbins, Gary Hicks and Janice Bone.
She is survived by her daughters, Mindy Hicks and Mike Townsend, Mackenzie Lawson and proud to help raise and call her own, Kalonna Johnson and Wendell Hicks; seven grandchildren, MaKayla, Tristan, Keagen, Kiley, Josiah, Ellie, and Tillie and one-on-the-way; siblings, Joannia Ingram, Jerry & Nylene Hicks, Jennifer & Jimmy Ratliff, Carolyn & Darrel Hutchison and Janet Lawson; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Judy will be Friday, Jan. 13, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be will be prior to on Friday from 1:00 P.M. to service time.
Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Shumate. Family requests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
