Mountain Grove Man Arrested After Attempting to Flee from Highway Patrol

Ozark County,  MO. – Master Sergeant Charlie Hogue of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G, arrested one individual on Valentine’s Day, after a traffic stop turned into a foot chase.

Jared Smith, 31 of Mountain Grove was pulled over for speeding by the Master Sergeant in Ozark County on Highway 5. After a computer check revealed that Smith had an active felony warrant out of Wright County for Dangerous Drugs, Smith attempted to flee.

The chase ended shortly after, and Smith was taken into custody at 10:48pm. He is charged with Felony Resisting Arrest, Speeding, Driving While Revoked, Operating a Motor Vehicle Emitting Excessive Noise, and No Seat Belt.

Smith is currently being held without bond in the Ozark County Jail.
