Betty Jean Smotherman was born February 27, 1938, in Brumley, Missouri, to Clint and Vergie (Suns) Luttrell. She departed this life on February 28, 2023, at Mountain View Healthcare at the age of 85 years.
She married Richard Glen Lee Smotherman, and between the two of them, they had eleven children, Carol, Cliff, Brenda, Butch, Terry, Tom, Tammy, Richard, Estella, Ann, and Glenna.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Clint and Vergie Luttrell; her husband, Glen; daughters, Terry Scheina and Ann Terrell; son, Butch Smotherman; sisters, Shirley Ann Walker, Mary Hellen Bettis, Linda Sue Barlow, and Isma Mann; and brothers, Larry Joe Luttrell and Junior Luttrell.
Survivors include her children, Carol Gibson of Kansas City, KS, Cliff (Chris) Moorehead of Houston, MO, Brenda Dillon of Bonner Springs, KS, Tom (Robin) Smotherman of Edwardsville, KS, Tammy Hill of Bonner Springs, Richard Dean (Sherry) Smotherman of Bonner Springs, Estella (Junior) Wallace of Birch Tree, MO, and Glenna Brown of Winona, MO; and brothers, Don Luttrell and Lester (Janice) Luttrell both of Iberia, MO.
Betty loved her flowers and angels. She had several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She loved her kids, they were her world. Betty will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri, with Pastor Red Brown officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9-10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pine Lawn Cemetery, Winona. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
