Mountain Home, AR. – A Norfork man charged with shooting at a house has pled not guilty to his charges. James A. Rorex, age 37 of Norfork, Ar., pled not guilty on Monday, April 3, to three counts of aggravated assault, unlawful discharge of a weapon from a vehicle, and committing a terroristic act.
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office began this case when they responded to a call at 9:05 pm on the night of February 28th. Information was received that Rorex had fired a handgun into the residence after a verbal altercation and was denied access to the residence.
Rorex had come to the house earlier in the day and was told to leave, and residents continued to watch the man from inside the house. It was then that the accused fired his gun before fleeing the scene. Two holes were found within the residence, with one of the bullets finding its way onto the bed of the master bedroom. It was collected as evidence.
Deputies proceeded to a residence where Rorex was believed to be. They did not locate the suspect but instead found a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun that was collected as evidence.
Rorex was later picked up and taken into custody on March 3rd by the Norfork Police Chief. Rores remains in the Baxter County Jail with a bond set at $75,000.
