Parks & Rec. to host ribbon cutting for new mountain bike trail

The public is invited to attend a West Plains Parks and Recreation ribbon cutting for the Witte’s End Trail at JMB Park, North BB Highway. The ribbon cutting is planned for 11 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2023.

Witte’s End Trail is a 1.6-mile mountain bike trail for bikers of all skill levels. In the weeks and months to come the trail will grow to double and possibly triple its current size. The trail was primarily built by community members Troy Witte and Michael Hullinger.

“This has been a great collaborative project between the City of West Plains and a group of residents that recognized a need,” said Witte. “it’s all been an effort to get more kids outside.”

Witte says the trail is multi-purpose and is great for walkers, hikers, and trail runners.
