Nova E. Nealy

Nova E. Nealy of St. Charles, MO. passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on April 21, 2023 at the age of 95 years, 1 month, and 18 days. Nova was born on March 3, 1928 in Hartshorn, MO. and raised on a farm. Daughter of Calvin and Iva (Ritchie) Gale. She was one of 11 children.

Nova was united in marriage to Marvin L. Nealy December 11, 1948 and they were married for 37 years.   They moved to St. Louis, MO and raised their family there. To this union was 3 children were born: Darrell, Barbara & Carol.

She is survived by two children, Barbara McClain, Carol  Lattimer & and companion Scott: she was a loving grandmother of 8, James Lee, Kevin, Jesse, Dakota, Marvin, Alexy, Michelle, and Atisha; she has 22 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; she is also survived by her sisters, Mary Stark, Orpha Burns and Irma Stark and sisters-in-law Nadine Stark, Judy Nealy and Helen Lorton; a good friend Eileen Malone and several nieces and nephews.

Nova was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin & Iva Gale; husband Marvin L. Nealy; son, Marvin (Darrell) Nealy; 3 sisters, Eva, Mildred and Blanche (Bonnie); 4 brothers, Doan, Lonzo, Owen and Earnie and 1 great grandson, Zachary Ripley.

She worked hard all her life, mostly in factorys. She volunteered at several things, Powell Terrace Food Pantry in St. Charles, MO., Red Cross in Rolla, MO and at Phelps County Regional Medical Center. Nova was always giving her time to help others. She was a member of Christview Christian Church.

She was an avid bowler and played in many tournaments in her younger days. She loved the Cardinals, playing cards, gardening, sewing and making several quilts for family. Nova traveled to several different countries and took cruises all over, but most of all she loved and enjoyed her family and friends dearly. She will be missed by all that knew her.
