The Royals avoided a sweep with a 2-0 shutout win over the Colorado Rockies in Kansas City. Royals starter Brady Singer struck out seven through five-and-two-thirds frames to earn the win on the mound. Maikel Garcia hit his first home run of the season with a solo shot in the eighth inning. Scott Barlow notched his seventh save of the year as Kansas City improved to 18-and-41. The Royals visit the Miami Marlins tonight.
