Macomb Man Arrested After Committing Domestic Assault, Resisting Arrest

Ava, MO. – A man from Macomb, MO. has been arrested by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office after being involved in a case of domestic violence and resisting arrest.

This arrest began as Deputy Shawn Wilson of the Douglas County Sheriff’s responded to a call of a domestic assault. Deputy Wilson arrived at the residence and witnessed the victim with injuries.

The victim stated that the suspect had struck her each time she attempted to leave the residence, and that further erratic behavior had happened the night before. The victim wished to press charges, and the Deputy asked the suspect, identified as Derek Lorber, 58 of Macomb, to comply with arrest.

Lorber attempted to escape, was caught, and attempted to escape again while in cuffs. A formal warrant was issued, and Lorber is being charged with Felony 2nd Degree Domestic Assault and Felony Resisting Arrest with a $5,000 bond.
