Licking, MO. – One individual has been arrested on July 6th after allegedly striking a family member multiple times with a flashlight.
The Texas County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement on the arrest via their Facebook page. In it, they state the event for them began when a deputy responded to the Licking Police Department where the victim in this case had walked in.
The deputy observed apparent bleeding injuries to the victim’s head, which were explained by the victim as being the result of being struck multiple times with a flashlight by a family member.
The deputy traveled to the location of the event, a residence on Cadle Road, and make contact with the suspect, Loren Deerwester. Deerwester admitted to the event while being interviewed during the investigation. He was arrested and taken to the Texas County Jail without bond on charges of 1st Degree Domestic Assault, and Armed criminal Action.
