Jose Quintana earned his first win of the season after surrendering two runs on three hits while striking out five over six innings. Trevor Gott notched his first save. Pete Alonso blasted his 37th homer of the season with a two-run shot in the fourth inning while Tim Locastro also went yard. New York improved to 56-and-66 and is fourth in the NL East. Tyler O’Neill launched a solo homer for St. Louis, which fell to 54-and-68. The Cards are last in the NL Central.
