Van Buren, Missouri, Man Arrested For Statutory Sodomy

Willow Springs, MO. – The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control announces the arrest of Thomas J. Keeney, 45, of Van Buren, Missouri. Keeney was arrested on September 13, 2023, following an investigation by the Troop E Criminal Unit of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control.

On September 7, 2023, the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control received a request from the Carter County Prosecuting Attorney and the Carter County Sheriff’s Office to investigate allegations of sexual misconduct involving Thomas Keeney. On September 13, 2023, interviews were conducted which resulted in Keeney’s arrest. He was transported to the Carter County Jail where he was held pending the filing of formal charges. On September 14, 2023, the Carter County Prosecuting Attorney formally charged Keeney with three counts of statutory sodomy. Keeney is currently being held in the Carter County Jail with no bond.
