Maxine Luton, daughter of Alfred and Janie Luton, was born in Douglas County, Missouri, on April 22, 1941. She entered into her eternal resting place on September 21, 2023, surrounded by family. She was 82 years old.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents; one infant sister; and her infant son, Terry.
She is survived by her husband, Estel Luton; her children, Gary Gregory (Mary), Karen Barks (Tim), Shawna Lindsley (Jim), and Angie Luton; seven grandchildren, Jessica Andrews (Jamey), Jennifer Capeder (Jacob), Chris Barks, Bradley Barks (Ashley), Casey Rose (Amber), Brittney Farrier (Michael), and Haley Beavers (Jeffery Warren); fourteen great-grandchildren, Eli, Finley, Oakley, Silas, Allie, Caysen, Liam, Paisley, Jaxx, Cole, Bryler, Reese, Daxton, and Kinslee; and one sister and best friend, Ila Luton.
Maxine was united in marriage in 1959 to Jim Gregory, and to this union, two children were born. On August 12, 1970, she was united in marriage to Estel, and to this union, three children were born. Maxine had a heart for the Lord. She attended Bluebuck Church most of her life. She never knew a stranger and loved everyone as Jesus would want. All of her grandbabies were her life, and she had a huge hand in raising them. They spent most summers with Grandma Maxine and Aunt Ila and didn’t want to go home. She always had a picture of them ready to show off to anyone willing to look. You would always find Maxine and Ila at a yard sale. They went every weekend in the summer and dreamed about them in the winter. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and anyone lucky enough to know her.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Holmes Flatrock Cemetery, Douglas County, Missouri, with Doug Collins officiating under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs, Missouri.
