Scammers Posing as Law Enforcement Making Rounds Once More

Scams are on the rise once again in the area as multiple law enforcement agencies have been advised that a previous scam has been making the rounds.

This scam involves the scam artist impersonating a law enforcement office employee. Those who who receive a call from law enforcement and are suspicious of the source should hang up the phone and call their appropriate law enforcement office in order to confirm the origin of the call.

Those who believe they have been targeted by these scams or have information on such scams are likewise asked to contact their local law enforcement agency to provide information.

It is important to keep in mind that the most common time of the year for scams to be on the rise is during the year-end holiday season, which we are just now beginning to enter.
