Linna Wood

Linna Lavonne Wood, the daughter of James Delmar “Doc” Burrus and Georgia Louise McConnell, was born on May 16, 1934 at Eminence, Missouri. She passed away at Houston, Missouri, on December 8, 2023, at the age of 89. She was united in marriage to Joe Vardie Wood on November 12, 1960. She had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and now resides in heaven.

Linna was a faithful member of the Assembly of God church in Eminence. She was employed for 20 plus years at Dix Manufacturing (TV factory) in Eminence. She left there to be a full time mother and homemaker. In later years she volunteered at the Senior Center. She loved helping raise Kasey and Karson, camping and fishing with family, quilting, cooking, raising farm animals, going to the cabin during deer season, and attending famous family fish fries. It was always the best fish she ever ate.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Georgia Burrus, her husband, Vard Wood, son-in-law Emmett Tate, two brothers (Don and Kenny Burrus), three bonus children (J.D. and wife Louise, S.L., and Brenda Wood), three sisters-in-law (Fay, Darlene, and Jean Burrus), one brother-in-law Dave Thomas, one grandson Todd Norris, and one great granddaughter Frankie Ziegler.

She was survived by two daughters Dina Kincaid of Norman, Oklahoma, and Jodi Tate of Eminence, two grandchildren of the home Kasey and Karson Wood, a daughter-in-law Marlyn Kelley, six other grandchildren Dwain Wood, Debbie Henderson, Rob (Missy) Wood, Shea (Sally) Wood, LaDawn (Greg) Goodwin, April (John) Mathews, thirteen great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, four brothers Tom, Bill (Maxine), Jack (Betty), Richard (Sherry) Burrus, one sister Judy Thomas, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held   Bradford Funeral Home. Interment will be Flatwoods Cemetery,  HWY D in Eminence, MO 65466
