Landis Michael Carr, 16, Rogersville, passed away December 20, 2023 from injuries suffered in an accident. He was born November 20, 2007 in Springfield, Missouri to Loren and Ashley Carr.
Landis was full of life and loved many things about life. He loved to hunt and fish, but his passion was sports, whether it was football, baseball, or basketball he wanted to excel and was very competitive. He was an exceptional and charismatic student at Logan-Rogersville High School where he took pride in his grades. He was well-known and loved by many friends, teachers, and coaches for his addictive personality and abundance of laughter. He loved to make people laugh by telling jokes or acting silly, he especially enjoyed teasing his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Loren and Ashley Carr; his brother, Maddax Wayne Carr; his grandparents, Chuck and Naomi Carr; his Nana, Dianna Hill; and his great-grandma, Lou Singleton. He is also survived by his uncles: Kurtis and Angie Buckner; Kevin and Kim Buckner; and Chris and Sara Hill; his aunts: Charolette and Bobby Horn; and Nina and Jesse Clem; and his great-uncle, Melvin and Barb Porter. He has many first cousins who he loved like siblings: KP, Jamie, Lori, Sis, Duck, Ryno, B-Ryan, Kassidy, Daniel, Megan, Cole, Drew, Chris, Aaron, Keira, Iris, Zoey, and Elyn; and several second cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Francis Carr, RC Henry, and Tom Hill; and other great-grandparents.
Landis was a baby magnet. If there was a baby in the house, you can bet Landis would have ahold of them before the day was done and both would be content. He loved and played hard and was a true friend to many, especially Connor and Braxton. Braxton was his brother from another mother who he grew up with. These boys were inseparable, and with that came a second pair of parents, Josh and Andrea Rupp. We knew these boys would be lifelong friends. Landis had been talking about becoming a pharmacist and Braxton we’re sure will go on to race cars. They brought the best out of each other.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 with funeral services following a 12:00 pm at Henderson Baptist Church, north of Rogersville, under the care of J.D.
